Ghost Tour

River City Ghosts takes you through historic downtown San Antonio to 8 or 12 different locations around the Old Town area. All tours are designed to give you a glimpse of the darkness that lurks in San Antonio’s history, each haunted location ratcheting up the tour’s tension. Your experienced tour guide will meet you at the corner of Crockett St. and N. St. Mary’s St. by the staircase to the Riverwalk at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Arrive early! The Standard Tour route takes an hour to complete. You will see several key historic locations and properties around downtown San Antonio and the Old Town area. If you select the Extended Tour route, you will get an additional 30 minutes of blood-curdling stories to fuel your imaginations and your nightmares.

San Antonio, Texas, is a fascinating town, including a brutal past it has now mostly escaped.  Our guided walking tour will excavate the past and unearth a selection of these gruesome tales; at the same time, we will tell you about the many phases of the town’s history.

In just over an hour, or 90 minutes for the extended tour, we will show you the ghostly remains of early history of the city, a frontier town where the living was rough, and the opportunities golden. You’ll see the Alamo and hear about the unprecedented scale of the slaughter and the many ghosts who remain to this day.

We’ll tell you about the modern-day ghosts who haunt the theatres and hotels that make San Antonio such a magnet for the twenty-first century. We also researched some additional stories of historical hauntings that did not make it into the walking tour; we collected the best ones and added them to our blog, enjoy! We hope to see you soon on a River City Ghost tour.
